31 Days of Prayer for Your Future Husband

1.                  To become a holy man, mature and growing in the Lord.
2.                  For contentment.
3.                  To take every thought captive, and not be conformed to the world’s thinking and to think scripturally.
4.                  To seek God with all his heart and grow in dependance on Him.
5.                  That he would be ever captivated by my love
6.                  To be a man of courage and boldness.
7.                  For wisdom to lead his family physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
8.                  To look at the plank in his own eye before seeing other’s sawdust.
9.                  To be a called man, not driven, with well thought-through and prayed-through goals in life
10.             To be a man of prayer, guarding his heart and mind, putting into practice what he has heard, seen and learned.
11.             To stand firm against the wiles of the devil and resist Satan in all circumstances.
12.             To strive after the Christian ideal, and partake of the deeper truths of the gospel.
13.             Not to depend on his circumstances for happiness but on God alone.
14.             That he would enter victoriously into spiritual warfare.
15.             To have God’s strength in the midst of his busy schedule.
16.             To have a burden to see lost people saved.
17.             To be kept from strange women.
18.             To have godly companions.
19.             That his self image might be a reflection of the Lord’s thoughts toward him.
20.             That he might not be deceived into unbelief, sin or bitterness.
21.             To learn to love as God commanded.
22.             That the fruit of the Spirit might be exhibited more and more in his life.
23.             To grow in humility.
24.             To grow daily in Godly character.
25.             To keep a clear conscience.
26.             The Lord might protect him.
27.             To learn to manage his time well.
28.             The Lord would put a song in his heart.
29.             To have a holy fear of God.
30.             To have a desire to minister to others.
31.             That I would be the best helpmeet and encourager for him.

  1. Thanks for posting this Beth!
Wow! what a challenge... not only to pray, but also to strive the be the young woman that this young man that I am praying for would marry, coz it would be pretty useless praying for these things for my future husband if me myself are not prepared or willing to take on the lifestyle I am praying for him to grasp hold of!! :)
Thanks Beth... this has encouraged me to take on praying for my future husband ( whoever or wherever he is!) more diligently and to strive to become more and more that woman that this young man would want to marry!
    Luv you!

  2. thank you for this. It is just this week that the Holy Spirit put it in my heart to begin praying for my husband even before we meet.
You are truly a helper in the faith.
God bless you always and grant your desires in Him always.

  3. This is wonderful! I have passed this along. I think it is a wonderful thing when young women recognize early on that praying for your future husband is an important step. Thank you!

  4. Thank you for posting this! I am not a young woman....I have been married before, have children, a career, and God has been faithful! Had I prayed in earnest for my future husband as a young woman, I may not have divorced on my "resume". But now I do understand.the vital importance of OFFENSIVE prayers and not just DEFENSIVE. I will use this to pray for me and my husband to be!

    1. Thank you for sharing this with us! Even though divorce isn't a pleasant thing to go through, praise God that you have learnt some valuable lessons from this!
May the Lord bless you as you desire to seek Him and know Him better!

  5. This is helpful! I pray daily for my friend (it has been prophesied that he will be my husband). This gives me a more direct guide on how to pray for him. I also pray for myself, that I may be this type of woman that this type of man would want to marry. We both need work! Prayer is the only way, even if my friend isn't my husband, I still need to pray for my future hubby!

  7. I wish I had known of this when I was young and prior to dating. I have never been married, but do have an adult daughter. I think this would have saved me tremendous heartache.

Just recently, the Lord told me to pray for my husband. I've done that before, but my prayers were more like, "Lord, if it's your will.." He told me to pray in earnest and to go on a fast. I will begin my fast next week and start the 31 days on Father's Day. He has shown me the man, but I have struggled with that. Anyway, I came across your site and am researching scriptural reference to go along with each day. As I pray for my husband, I will pray the scriptures over him. Once I finish with the scriptures, I will post them for other ladies.

I am also giving this to my daughter when the time is right.
